Prophet Elias

Designation

The church is also called Prophet Elias "Psilos" (high).

Due to the location of the church, you will need to walk for about two hours. The path is quite rough, so be prepared as appropriate shoes are required for the route. Keep in mind the time you need to climb the mountain to get back in time, in the event of a nightfall, otherwise you will need lighting equipment.

Paths

There are two paths you can follow:

• the first begins at the end of the dirt road, which passes by the Castle of Chora and heads north.
• the second starts from the chapel of Agios Nikolaos, located west of the town of Vathi.

Of course, before you start hiking, you will need to consult a local on the island to inform you about the state of the trails.
